US home prices keep on climbing and now some are saying they have seen signs of a housing bubble on the way. While it it too early to tell exactly what will happen, what we do know is that a lot was learned from the last housing crash.

If these concerning trends continue, banks, policymakers and regulators will be better equipped to quickly react to the situation and hopefully avoid the heartache (and headache) of a correction. Compared to the last housing correction, Americans are generally in better financial shape, homeowners have stronger equity positions, and excessive borrowing is not as prevalent as it was in the mid-2000s.
